From conception to production care has been taken over every last detail. With its sharp design and confident lines, the 308 is unmistakeably Peugeot.

SHAPE & DESIGN

At Peugeot, sharp design is in our DNA. The Peugeot 308 is no exception, every detail , no matter the size has been meticulously  developed . The strong, confident lines that define a Peugeot are everywhere to be seen. At the front the sculpted bonnet with sharp lines lead to slim headlamps featuring LED technology on Allure models and above.

In profile the Peugeot 308 sits closer to the road with a 20mm lower centre of gravity than its predecessor giving a more purposeful stance whilst elegant touches such as chrome window surrounds frame the side windows perfectly. Sharp lines run the full length of the car, with a strong 'muscular' shoulder that builds over the rear wheel arch blending seamlessly with the perfectly sculpted rear. At the rear the Peugeot 308 features the iconic Peugeot 'claw' effect LED lighting signature as well as a lightweight, composite tailgate.

FULL LED HEADLAMPS

Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology remains a rare feature in the car industry, with the Peugeot 308 however this is not the case. Full LED headlamps feature from Allure level and above providing the following customer benefits:

  • LED technology consume considerably less energy to produce light, 50% less than halogen and 35% less than xenon technologies.
  • LED technology offers a whiter light for improved visibility at night, the light is also more similar to daylight, leading to reduced driver eye fatigue, improving safety.
  • LED technology requires no warm up time with instantaneous lighting response when compared to conventional halogen technologies.
  • LED technology will last for the life of the car, compared to halogen technology with much shorter life expectancy.
  • LED technology offers a very striking visual signature that perfectly complements the sharp exterior design of the Peugeot 308.

In addition all Peugeot 308 models feature LED daytime running lights to increase the visibility of the vehicle during daylight hours. These are fully integrated into the headlamp clusters on Allure level and above.

SEQUENTIAL LED INDICATORS

To stand out from the crowd and serve as a very striking visual marker for sports models, GT Line level and above benefit from sequential LED indicator technology. When signalling left or right the front bumper mounted indicators glide in an outwards formation rather than flash in the conventional 'repeater' style.

'CLAW EFFECT' LED REAR LIGHTING SIGNATURE

All Peugeot 308 hatchback models benefit from the iconic Peugeot 'claw' effect LED lighting signature comprising of 3 x LED light strips per cluster.

The design signature harks back to the iconic Peugeot 504 Coupe and Cabriolet with each cluster featuring LED technology in the side lighting and brake lights.

As LED's require no warm up time, the brake lights of the Peugeot 308 light up instantly upon brake depression, this increases safety as halogen technology requires 0.2 seconds of warm up time.

EFFICIENT MODULAR PLATFORM 2 (EMP2)

At Peugeot we know that a vehicle's platform isn't the most exciting subject, but our advancements in platform design translate into real benefits for you. EMP2 is so advanced that we filed 116 patents during its development. The Peugeot 308 is 140kg lighter than its predecessor (the equivalent of two average sized adults), with 70kg of this weight saving coming from EMP2 through the use of lightweight, high strength materials and new manufacturing processes.

As well as increasing driver enjoyment, EMP2 also contributes to reduced CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, and also allows us to change the way we design our cars. In profile, the wheels of the Peugeot 308 sit closer to the edges of the car, improving its stance but also reducing the overhangs for increased manoeuvrability.
